CHRISTMAS HAS COME EARLY,
MARK YOUR 2024 CALENDARS NOW!

2024 ANNOUNCED!

At long last! The 2024 Crossflow schedule is here. We have a great schedule ahead of us for next year gang, and we are excited for it to get underway. Kicking off with rounds 1 and 2 at the CSRG David Love event at Sonoma in March, we should see laptimes plummet as this promises to be the first vintage race of 2024 on the new asphalt at Sonoma. Next up for rounds 3 and 4 will see us tackle the familiar Monterey twists and turns with the HMSA event at Laguna. We do not yet have a firm date for this one, but we are expecting it to be one of the two weekends in March after CSRG at Sonoma. This will be great for out-of-towners to be able to hit double weekends in a short time span. Rounds 5 and 6 will see us back at Laguna for the ever popular Laps for Laguna event, supporting the track at one of the best fundraising events they have all year. Our bonus event will be at Elkhart Lake in July, the 55th FF birthday party. This will be an appearance points only event. All our racers that take to the track for one session will receive 5 points. We realize that not all our racers can make the sojourn east but we hope that those who can will get a something for their efforts. Closing out the '24 season with rounds 7 and 8 at the CSRG Charity Challenge, we will also have the Top Gun Shootout to add some excitement to the last weekend of the season.

HEY ETHAN, ANY CHANGES TO THE POINTS?
Good question! We are dropping the drop rule. Last year, we only had 8 racers make every round (4 in CF, 4 in HF). So it didn't work to anyone's advantage, made keeping track of midseason points more difficult, and in the end didn't really function as we hoped it would. So there we go.

  • Green Flag Start (1 point for all who take the green)

  • Pole - each class CF and HF (1 point each)

  • Hard Charger - one hard charger each race (2 points)

  • Max points haul for a weekend (Pole/Start/Win = 12 points, do it both days = 24 points, do that 4 times for a perfect season = 96 points, + 5 appearance points for Elkhart = 101 points!)

CSRG PRESENTS: THE TOP GUN SHOOTOUT
The Top Gun Shootout is back for it's second year! Once again, there will be a 5 lap shootout race for a maximum of 16 qualified cars. We are changing the qualifications for the Top Gun Shootout for next season: for 2024 it will be by setting fastest race lap or by being a hard charger. SO, If you set fastest race lap during one of the 8 rounds, you qualify for the Top Gun Shootout. If you are the hard charger for one of the 8 rounds, you qualify for the Top Gun Shootout.  Once again, the TGS grid will be set randomly for maximum excitement!

The winner of the Top Gun Shootout will join this year's winner Danny Baker as the Top Gun!

RULE CHANGES for 2024:
1. Yellow out lap. Every qualifying session for 2024 will begin with the first lap under yellow. No more questions about it, this is now Crossflow Cup law.

2. Jumped starts. for 2024, I will be in the starters box for each and every start. I will be sole judge and jury for jumped starts. If I feel that you have taken advantage before the green flag, race control will give you a black flag for a stop and go penalty.  I do not care where you are starting, or what is going on around you. Stay in formation until the green waves, then go nuts. It's that simple.

3. Weaving/blocking. At our last round of 2023, we had a bunch of weaving and blocking taking place. This didn't happen all year until the last weekend so I'm nipping it in the bud. One move is fine. Take a defensive line if you want. Drive down the middle if you want. I don't care. But if you make more than one move and you are caught, there will be finishing position penalties.
